How Magazine Arrests Are Handled
Magazine counted just 740 residents in the 2020 Census. Its policing differs from Booneville and Paris. The department is formally tied to the Logan County Sheriff's Office, and the official Magazine Police page explains the setup.
Since March 2022, LCSO has supervised and operated the department under an interlocal agreement. The former full-time chief position became a full-time Magazine Sergeant working out of City Hall. An August 2025 amendment added a full-time Magazine Deputy. That deputy patrols evenings and shares school-resource work. None of this fixes who holds a specific report or booking record. Ask LCSO which office owns the item.
Where Magazine Recent Arrests Appear
Magazine has no police website of its own. The city posts no arrest roster or booking-photo feed. Start with the Logan County Sheriff's Office sources instead. News and aggregator pages are secondary leads only, so confirm anything they show with the agency or the court.
| Channel | Scope | Key limit | Authority |
|---|---|---|---|
| LCSO current roster | People displayed in custody at Logan County Detention Center | Not every Magazine arrest is proven to enter that facility | Official |
| LCSO 48 Hour Release | Recent releases from the county facility | Release list, not a city arrest log | Official |
| LCSO/Magazine records inquiry | City police incident and arrest records | No separate public form or fee schedule found | Official |
| LCSO press archive | Selected investigations and arrest narratives | Episodic and incomplete | Official |
| RecentlyBooked / Busted Newspaper | Mixed Logan County entries | City labels, dates, and status may be stale or incomplete | Unofficial |
Neither aggregator offers a verified Magazine-only feed. A county label alone tells you little. It does not show where an arrest occurred or which officer made it. The official LCSO patrol information gives the wider county picture instead.

Magazine sits on the Logan County side of the LCSO patrol map. No arrest gallery appears here. Deputies handle bookings, and the county roster shows who was arrested.
Finding Someone Arrested in Magazine
Start by separating the arrest from the confinement. The Logan County jail sits in Paris. Someone arrested in Magazine may be booked there, released, or moved on to another system. Never stretch an online result beyond its stated custody scope.
- Search the official LCSO roster chooser under Current Inmates using first or last name. Broaden the search with Show All, alphabetical controls, sort order, and pagination.
- Check the 48 Hour Release view for a person who may recently have left the county detention center. Do not call it a list of all Magazine arrests from the last day.
- Call LCSO at 479-963-3271 and ask for the LCSO/Magazine route when the person is absent or custody is urgent.
- Ask where the person was confined and which agency owns the arrest report. Do not infer either answer from a county roster label.
- For a later case outcome, locate the filing through Search ARCourts and ask the proper district or circuit clerk.
A fresh booking can lag while intake and identity checks run. Current covers people still in custody. Released people move to the 48-hour view. Someone sentenced and transferred to state custody needs the Arkansas Department of Corrections search instead. The city route will not reach that person.
The Logan County mugshot and booking-photo section explains what a roster image means. It also covers why these photos should not be copied. Note: The county publishes no fixed web-update schedule for Magazine bookings. Posting times can vary.
LCSO and Magazine Arrest Records
Start records requests with LCSO at 479-963-3271. Ask the office to route you to the LCSO/Magazine records custodian. The public pages list no separate Magazine request form. There is no copy fee schedule or promised turnaround either. A clear request keeps you from being bounced between offices.
LCSO / Magazine Police Route
Logan County Sheriff's Office
201 South Lowder Street
Paris, AR 72855
479-963-3271
Administrative hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Give the name, the city, and the date. Add the arresting officer or agency and any incident or booking number if known. Request the actual arrest report, booking sheet, jail-log entry, or booking image rather than an interpretation. Also ask which office legally holds the item.
- Contact the official LCSO office and identify the request as a Magazine matter.
- Describe the record narrowly and give identifiers that distinguish the event.
- Ask for the current FOIA custodian, accepted delivery method, and an estimate of actual copy or mailing cost.
- If the record is elsewhere, ask where it was transferred and for the successor custodian.
The online crime-tip form is not a records request. Nor is it monitored as an emergency channel for urgent matters. Call the official LCSO number when a custody question cannot wait. For a true emergency, dial 911.
Why Magazine Arrest Custody Must Be Confirmed
The detention page says most arrests in Logan County lead to the Logan County Detention Center. Booneville has a stated city-jail exception. Magazine gets no such mention. That silence does not prove every Magazine arrest is booked at the county facility. So confirm custody directly.
Ask where the person was confined and who owns the record you want. One arrangement can govern the police report while the jail builds a separate intake record. The 48-hour view covers only Paris releases. It is not a complete Magazine release log.
- Arresting agency
- The office or officer responsible for the arrest event.
- Booking facility
- The jail or holding location that performs intake and creates custody fields.
- Record custodian
- The public body that keeps the requested report, photo, log, or court file.
Note: City branding, officer assignment, and record custody can overlap under the agreement without ever becoming the same legal fact.
How Soon Do Magazine Arrests Post?
LCSO keeps a live current roster and a 48-hour release roster. No public refresh schedule exists. The booking date on a card marks the intake event, not the moment the page changed. Processing can delay a name. No official weekend or holiday pattern is published. When timing matters, check both official rosters and then call the office. Someone in custody now will not appear in Released.
A person released after a booking can show in that short window even if the arrest happened earlier. Older releases fall outside the 48-hour view, though the record itself can still be requested. Does no roster match mean no arrest? No. The gap can mean processing is incomplete, the name differs, the person sits elsewhere, or the release window simply passed. Ask LCSO to confirm.
Magazine Arrest News Is Not a Blotter
Magazine residents looking for booking news often land on the LCSO press archive first. It holds selected investigations and multi-agency announcements, not a full arrest record. Magazine Police show up in some of those stories because of the county partnership. Still, the archive mixes in non-arrest news and skips many bookings entirely. A release can run later than the arrest date. The arrest or processing may predate it.
Local papers and KHBS/KHOG cover big incidents in Magazine, which helps with context. They won't tell you who is in custody right now. Some unofficial sites keep county entries alive. RecentlyBooked and Busted Newspaper are two. But neither one offers complete Magazine coverage or settles what a court decided. For a sense of how joint operations work, the official LCSO recent-arrests release helps. It covers a multi-agency effort with Magazine Police.

Treat the press archive as narrative, not as a daily Magazine arrest roster or booking photo collection. It shows what LCSO chose to announce. The live roster answers county custody questions. For the police record itself, contact the LCSO or Magazine custodian, and leave court outcomes to the court.
